Founded in 1988, McLamb Communications specializes in public relations and business communications. Owner Teresa McLamb is also an accomplished freelance writer, having been published in dozens of magazines and newspapers as well as co-authoring the book
Wilmington - Treasure on the Atlantic.
“Among the truly fun projects I’ve tackled were the Olympic Festival Torch Run and several of the documentaries produced by Dr. Leutze while he was chancellor of UNCW,” McLamb said. For her work in publicizing the documentaries, which aired on PBS, she was awarded both the Award of Excellence and the Grand Award by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
She has been a volunteer publicist for many of the area’s major events including Marine Expo and
the North Carolina Azalea Festival. She served as a board member and board chair for the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce and as a board member for the Brunswick County Tourism Development Authority.
For business clients, McLamb Communications researches, writes and distributes news releases, writes web site editorial, creates brochures and develops comprehensive communication plans as well as documenting corporate histories and employee policies. Her freelance articles have appeared in national, regional and local publications including Ideal Living, Public Affairs Monitor, Greater Wilmington Business Journal, Wilmington Magazine and Focus on the Coast. Her first piece for Snows Cut Monthly was in the November 2009 issue.
Prior to establishing the firm, McLamb was an employee communications specialist for General Electric Nuclear Energy. She holds a BA in journalism from UNCCH and MA in English from UNCW.
