Giving Back To Our Community

Special thanks go out to everyone in the Pleasure Island community who give back to those in need throughout the year. Here are just a few of the great organizations that are lending a helping hand during this holiday season. Feel free to post any others you would like to recognize in the comments section.

Nourish NC
Pleasure Island Photography is working to help promote a wonderful 501 (c) 3 organization, Nourish NC. Pip is running special photography session promotion. Donate $50.00 worth of food(ravioli and soup preferred), backpacks(larger ones), or make a financial donation in the amount of $50.00 (or more) and PIP will honor you with a one hour professional photo session($125 value) good till the end of this school year. Any checks should be made out to Nourish NC.  Your donation is tax exempt and you save $75 off normal hourly session fee.  Session is transferable which makes an excellent Christmas gift and can be used anytime by the end of May 2011 so this is an  excellent way to obtain school pictures of the kids, grand kids, engagement photos, family portraits, or your fulfill your business needs.   Call or email for more details. 910-470-6804 or jimmy@pleasureislandphotography.com

Step Up For Soldiers
Step Up For Soldiers was started more than six years ago as a 501 c 3 Non-Profit Fund, and continues to be an all volunteer program raising and helping local veterans.  They support our local National Guard Unit the 1-120th Combined Arms Battalion.  This unit returned from combat in January 2004 and were once again in Iraq until December 2009. The group recently held their Second Annual Christmas Party in order to honor our military families and to thank their supporters. Learn more at http://www.stepupforsoldiers.org/

Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC
Thousands of people in our communities will be facing a bleak holiday season - families who find themselves without jobs, without food, without homes.  But you can return hope into the lives of so many this year.
Make a gift to the Holiday Meals Campaign through the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC to help ensure that children, parents and grandparents have enough food for this holiday season.

Community Toy Drives
Several Pleasure Island businesses including Tangerine Caribbean Grill and The Carolina Beach Fire Department helped make Christmas a little brighter for area children by holding toy drives.
