The eagerly anticipated Carolina Beach Farmers Market will be open
for the first time on Saturday, April 24th from 8 am to 1 pm. Come to
the Lake on Lake Park Boulevard to find locally grown produce, plants,
baked goods, fresh meat, and cheeses, as well as local arts and crafts.
Stop
by the information table to pick up a list of local shops offering 10%
discounts for market attendees. There will also be a ribbon cutting held
by the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce at 10:30 am to officially
kick-off this great addition to the community.
Whether
you are just in town for a few days or a longtime resident make sure
you include the Carolina Beach Farmers Market in your weekend plans this
spring and summer!

One of the great success stories on Pleasure Island when some highly motivated and intelligent Island gals got together and created a business plan that no one could find a flaw in. There were a number of people involved in this initiative, but special thanks go to Janet Knott and Elaine Stewart for carrying the heavy load and to the Carolina Beach Town Council for seeing the wisdom of their plan.
