I started EntreServ in 2011. Luke Whitley and myself funded the startup. Both of us are venture capital-ists, but we both grew up on adjoining farms in Halifax County (Enfield, NC).

The company is family run and operates a 3 divisions under one umbrella. We will be a Pleasure Island company. My family was originally from Carolina Beach, before my great grandmother (Ila Jane Brigman) married and moved in the 1950’s. She along with Great Aunt’s Laura and Florence owned the arcade here and rented out rooms above it. My Aunt’s cont’d to live here so my mother spent a lot of time here as a child, and it was always our vacation spot to come even long after their passing’s .

About Carlton

A North Carolina Entrepreneur, Carlton has invested in numerous companies since the late 1980's. Originally from Roanoke Rapids NC, he currently calls Carolina Beach home.

All projects and investments in which he holds a majority interest are managed by Carlton Brown Companies and include: Digital Media, Small Business Lending, Outdoor Advertising, Print & Copy Services, as well as Commercial, Residential & Farm Property Rentals.

Quick to help out a good cause, Carlton has committed his time, energy and money to many charities and non-profits including The Chil-dren's Miracle Network, Duke University's Iron Dukes, The Miracle League of the Triangle and served 4-years on the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau (Eastern NC) as an Officer, Director and the Company's Vice-Chairman.
