Carolina Beach Amusement Park Open

The Carolina Beach Boardwalk Amusement Park is back and ready to kick off their third season on Pleasure Island. Take a ride on the old fashioned carousel, a spin in the barrels, see the sights from the ferris wheel...or for the thrill seekers out there how about an 80 foot tall drop tower?

There are many rides up and running now with several more arriving between now and the official Grand Opening Memorial Day Weekend.

Effective Now

The Park is open on Thursday through Sunday with the following hours:

Thursday and Sunday     5:00 pm to 11:00 pm

Friday and Saturday       5:00 pm to 12:00 am

Effective May 30

The Park will be open seven days a week  with the following hours:

Sunday through Thursday     5:00 pm to 11:00 pm

Friday and Saturday             5:00 pm to 12:00 am

Summer Fun On Pleasure Island

Whether you're on Pleasure Island for a day, a week, or all summer long you'll never run out of fun things to do! The Summer Events Poster above was recently released showcasing many of the exciting events on the island. From Free Movies at the Lake on Sunday nights, to weekly Fireworks, to lots of live music, and much more there's no shortage of ways to have fun at your favorite NC beaches!

Pleasure Island Brewery Invitational - Saturday, May 14th

There's so much to do on Pleasure Island this weekend - luckily there's lots of time to fit it all in! Check out the Pleasure Island Brewery Invitational from 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the Carolina Beach Lake. Live music and of course lots of great beers to sample. Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door. There will also be discounted driver tickets available at the door for $20.

Spotlight On Business - RideAbout LLC

RideAbout, LLC is Pleasure Island’s newest mode of transportation-rickshaws/pedicabs! Customers enjoy eco-friendly, fun transportation to local attractions, bars, and restaurants. Beginning April 1st, normal operating hours will be 9:00AM-Midnight (depending on weather and foot traffic).

RideAbout is owned and operated by local residents, Jim and Sheila Nicholson. While traveling over the years, they have enjoyed riding in rickshaws in places like Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA, and thought Carolina Beach would be the perfect place for that type of service-the terrain is flat and full of tourists!

The majority of customers will often come from persons walking around town and
wanting on the spot pick-up service for rides from point A to point B. RideAbout is also
planning on working special events, weddings, private parties and around the town tours.

Drivers of the cabs are licensed by the Town of Carolina Beach. Each is trained on the 21-speed human powered pedicabs in both operation and safety. The cabs are high quality, American made bikes, and offer very relaxing, comfortable rides. Each cab will hold 2-3 persons, and canopies can be used on those hot summer days.
