Donate Used Fishing Gear to Make a Difference

Donate used rods, reels, and tackle boxes to the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher! Rods are refurbished and given to local youth and adult groups such as Big Buddy and St Mary/Tileston Social Outreach.

Drop off rods and reels at Visitor Services between 9 am and 5 pm daily. Please ensure the rod and reel is in somewhat workable order and has no missing parts.

Sweet Treats on Pleasure Island

One of the best parts of summer is enjoying a sweet treat - either while strolling down the boardwalk, watching the fireworks, or sitting on the sand before rinsing off any drips and spills in the ocean!

The Island Ice Factory is open weekends on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) from 3:00—9:00 pm. Starting Memorial Day, they will be open seven days a week from noon until the last person leaves!

Free Summer Concert Series Line-up Announced

It's time to start planning a fun filled summer on Pleasure Island. Whether you'll be here for a weekend, a week, or every chance you get - you're sure to enjoy the sun, surf, and of course music!

One of the most beloved summertime traditions is the Free Summer Concert Series. On the 2nd and 4th Friday of June, July, and August head to the Ft Fisher Military Recreation Center in Kure Beach, NC to hear popular local bands fill the warm summer air with great music as the sun sets over the Cape Fear River.

Bring a picnic, some lawn chairs, and a few friends (beverages and other refreshments also available for purchase) and enjoy the show.
