The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher is celebrating Veteran's Day by waiving admission fees for everyone on Wednesday, November 11, 2015.
From the Aquarium's official press release:
"Veterans Day is one of two holidays each year the N.C. Aquariums offer visitors free entry. The other is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in January. All N.C. Aquariums also offer discounts throughout the year to active duty military and retired military (with identification)."
The press release also said that the Aquarium will be accepting non-perishable food donations on Nov. 11 to benefit those served by the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Visitors are encouraged to bring canned fruits, vegetables, meats, beans and soups, as well as peanut butter and infant formula.
With most area schools being closed for the holiday, AquaCamp is sure to be a popular event this day. Children ages 5 to 12 are invited to spend "a fun-filled day at AquaCamp," where the theme is "Top Predators." Space is limited and is likely to fill quickly.
