Carolina Beach Street Arts Festival Annual Art Auction Dinner

Come enjoy the spirit and spectacle of Mardi Gras while supporting the arts in Pleasure Island!

The Annual Carolina Beach Street Arts Festival Art Auction is a fun- and art-filled event to help support the overall Festival. With costumes, music, appetizers, raffles and opportunities to bid on fantastic works of art from all around the country, it's no wonder the event has already sold out of advance tickets! But don't worry -- tickets will still be available at the door.

The Art Auction  is scheduled for February 23, 2017 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the SeaWitch Cafe & Tiki Bar, 227 Carolina Beach Ave. N., Carolina Beach.

This year's theme is, of course, Mardi Gras and participants wearing Mardi Gras costumes will receive 5 extra raffle tickets for door prizes. Admission at the door is only $5.

There will be both a silent and live auction, where participants can bid on amazing original fine art and fine crafts. Tim Perry of Island Auction Co. is a professional auctioneer who will bring lots of fun to this glamorous event.

"The art auction is our major fund raiser for the annual Carolina Beach Street Arts Festival," says Jillian Boivin, president of hosting organization Island Arts and Culture Alliance. "The Festival brings fine artists and crafters from around the region to show and sell their artwork."

Artwork made at the interactive festivals, as well as pieces donated from local artists will be available at the auction.

"We have held the silent auction dinner for 3 years and this year we thought a live auction would be fun along with our Mardi Gras theme to make it a great night out," says Skip Sprauge, owner of Tip Top Frames and vice president of the Alliance.

Two large original paintings that were painted by the community at last year's festival and directed by Jan Feury, local artist, will be available along with artwork provided by more than 20 artists.

The festival is the flagship event for the Island Arts and Culture Alliance (IACA), a non-profit, community-based organization. IACA's mission is to promote awareness, understanding and appreciation of the literary, visual and performing arts in the island community, in order to enhance the quality of life in our area.
