Don't Forget, Public Safety Day is March 25!

Police Cars, fire trucks, ambulances, and games! If you’re looking for something to do along the family fun lines, Public Safety Day in Kure Beach on Saturday, March 25th offers adults and kids of all ages an interactive opportunity to learn about the public safety initiatives and resources in the Pleasure Island community.

Carolina Beach & Kure Beach Police Departments are partnering together to host a fee community event at the Ft. Fisher Air Force Recreation Area for the whole family to educate, create community interest, raise awareness, and build relationships with first responders. And of course, to have fun! This is your chance to meet the police offers, paramedics, and firemen—in a non-emergency environment—who keep our community safe, and learn about the resources and programs that each offer in New Hanover County.

The Public Safety Day in Kure Beach is a great opportunity to show children that police officers, firefighters, and law enforcement are their friends, and help ease their fears so in an emergency situation they wouldn’t hesitate to trust that these public safety officials are there to help them.

Participating organizations include New Hanover County law enforcement agencies, local military branches, local police, fire, EMS representatives, and community organizations.

The event has a lot to offer attendees including various public safety units on display from police, fire, and EMS, and a special area created just for kids will include a host of fun games and activities.

Here’s a look at all of the highlights:

  • kids zone
  • food trucks
  • static displays of emergency and public safety vehicles
  • demonstrations
  • free document shredding and disposing of old documents by Local Government Federal Credit Union (LGFCU)
  • free car seat safety checks by Safe Kids Cape Fear

So come celebrate the partnership between our community and the amazing public safety professionals that serve us. The Public Safety Day event runs from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. For more information, call the Carolina Beach Police Department at (910) 458-2540 or the Kure Beach Police Department at (910) 458-7586.
