Britts Donut Shop 2015 Opening Date!

Pleasure Island's favorite sign of Spring is almost here...Britts Donuts will open for 2015 on Friday March 27th at 4:00 PM!

The long awaited sign appeared recently on the door to this beloved spot on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk which has been making delicious donuts since 1939.

In case you're not already among Britts' legions of devoted fans, don't worry about making tough decisions...Britts serves up just one type - a perfect glazed donut, piping hot, sugary, that melts in your mouth. You can't have just one, and they are best eaten directly from the bag just as soon as they're cool enough to handle. Good luck waiting that long!

When Britts first opens in 2015 they will be open Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays, and will expand the schedule to seven days a week as we get closer to summer.

You can not get your Britt's Donut fix any day of the week on Pleasure Island! Stop by the Carolina Beach Boardwalk for one of these world famous treats.

In June, July, & August Britt's will be open from 8:30 am to 10:30 pm each day.

During September they will be open on weekends only.

When Does Britt's Donuts Open for the 2013 Season?

Spring is in the air...and so is that long awaited smell of freshly cooked Britt's Donuts! You won't have to wait much longer, the Pleasure Island institution opens for the 2013 season on March 22 at 4:00 pm.

Be among the first to taste a hot, sugary, world-famous Britt's donut this year. Doors will open at 4:00 pm on Fridays, be open through the weekends, and will close around dark on Sundays through Memorial Day Weekend. Beginning with Memorial Day Weekend Britt's will be open 7 days a week throughout the 2013 summer season.

Carolina Beach Boardwalk Named One of the Top Ten in the US

Pleasure Island was recently in the news once again, this time in a list of the America's Best Boardwalks compiled by Food and Wine Magazine. The Carolina Beach Boardwalk was honored among other seaside hot spots from across the US, with the carnival rides, food stands, and of course Britt's Donuts among the reasons given for its inclusion.

Our little island has been big news lately, first with a write-up in the Atlanta Journal Constitution on the weekly fireworks display found here throughout the summer:

And then Carolina Beach and Britt's Donuts were mentioned in a national broadcast of Weekend Edition Sunday from National Public Radio. The story centers around the commentator not quite getting the hype behind donuts as a harbinger of and must-eat treat of summer. A piping hot Britt's donut just dripping with glaze after taking a dip in the ocean or to kick off a weekend morning? What's not to get? Sounds like the author needs a trip to Pleasure Island to truly understand what it's all about!

That's the question on everyone's mind as the weather starts to get a little warmer and it's clear that spring is just around the corner. Well, we've got the inside scoop - Britt's Donuts will be opening at 8:30 am on Saturday, March 31st, 2012 through Sunday, early evening.

The following weekend, Britt's will be open for an extended Easter weekend from Friday at 4:00 until they run out on Easter Monday. After that, Britt's will be open on Fridays (at 4:00) through Sunday until Memorial Day weekend, when they will be open seven days a week.

The immensely popular Britt's Donuts is located at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk and serves up piping hot, glazed, handmade donuts throughout the summer season. A local favorite, and can't miss spot for visitors and vacationers, Britt's has a passionate and loyal following, and the Britt's Donut opening is one of the most highly anticipated events on Pleasure Island each year!

There's still time to enjoy a Britt's Donut...

Fall on Pleasure Island means uncrowded beaches, crisp cool air, sea turtles hatching, and fun events like Island Day and the Seafood, Blues and Jazz Fest. Unfortunately it also means saying a fond farewell to our beloved Britt's Donuts for the off-season.

But don't worry - the little shop on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk will be open a few more weeks with reduced hours. Britt's will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the month of September.

One of the most commonly asked questions at this time of year is, "When does Britt's Donuts open?"

Well, you don't have to wait much longer for one of their world famous treats - the highly anticipated hand written sign appeared recently announcing that Britt's will reopen on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 4:00 pm. Britt's Donut Shop can be found at spot #11 on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. Yummmmm.

We know you've been dreaming about it through this long, cold, and dreary winter. The smell of doughnuts frying...the long line that is totally worth waiting in...the sugar burning your fingers because you just can't wait...Britt's Donuts is officially back!!

Announced by the handwritten sign that is eagerly awaited each year, the cherished Carolina Beach doughnut shop opens for the 2010 season on Friday, March 26th at 4:00 pm. Throughout the early spring Britt's Donuts will be open only on the weekends during the following hours:

Friday: 4 pm - Evening
Saturday: 8:30 am - Until...
Sunday: 8:30 am - 6:00 pm

You can expect a crowd on opening night with Britt's Donuts fans coming from miles around to get their first bite of the season. The locals will be there as well, arriving by flip flop, beach cruiser, and golf cart for their Britt's fix.

If somehow you have never had a Britt's doughnut, don't wait any longer! Make your way to the Carolina Beach Boardwalk on Friday, March 26th for the handmade delicacy, dipped in glaze and hung to cool on long wooden dowels. And whatever you do - don't just order one!
