Two New Businesses Come to Pleasure Island

Two new businesses have come to our little corner of Coastal North Carolina, and we wanted to make sure everybody knows about them!

Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome Holy Smoke (that's) BBQ and Wilmington Fit Body Boot Camp - two very different but very exciting businesses!

Let's start with Holy Smoke (that's) BBQ, where residents and visitors can get a taste of slow smoked, NC style barbecue pork and brisket. Smoked for 16+ hours on the sweet, mellow flavor of oak, the barbecue here is sure to satisfy your cravings for true North Carolina cuisine.

Spotlight on Business - Saint's Cove Beach Bar & Grill

Saint's Cove Beach Bar and Grill opened their doors on May 3, 2014 in Carolina Beach at 1006 S. Lake Park Blvd. We offer a family friendly atmosphere to locals and visitors of the beach. We serve burgers, wraps, baskets, salads, desserts, and a children's menu. Many of our sauces, our coleslaw, and salsa are homemade. We have a full ABC license and have just added a selection of red wines and Pinot Grigio. We offer live music on most weekends and some weekday nights. For August, we have the Justin Fox Duo, Bob Handlin, David Fair & Nash, and Jay Can Skip scheduled thus far.

In the Fall, we will have the NFL package on our televisions- indoor and out. We will offer food and drink specials on game days. Come root for your favorite team or against your non-favorite team and enjoy the time with us!

We are also available for birthday parties or other celebrations for you and your family. Please call ahead so we can get set up for you. The Cove is owned by Nick and Elaine Augustine and their three children; Justin, Stacy,and Travis. Stacy is the manager of the restaurant. We hail from Michigan, although Justin and Stacy were born here and Elaine was raised in the South. We have good Southern Roots and are very happy to be living on the island. Join us on September 15th at 5:30 for our official Ribbon-Cutting ceremony!

Spotlight on Business - Good Hops Brewing

There's a lot of excitement about the arrival of Good Hops Brewing! Pleasure Island's first brewery is scheduled to open in April at the corner of Dow Rd and Harper Ave.

Good Hops Brewery Coming to Carolina Beach, NC

A new business is coming soon to Carolina Beach. Good Hops Brewing, the first brewery on Pleasure Island, is slated to open in April 2014. On Tuesday, February 11, 2014, The Carolina Beach Town Council unanimously approved Breweries within the City Limits, clearing the way for Good Hops Brewing to take its place as a Pleasure Island hot spot.

Rich and Patricia Jones are on their way to their first batch of Carolina Beach's own. Watch for upcoming news of Grand Opening, Tours and Tastings.
