5th Annual Christmas By The Sea

It's almost time for the Carolina Beach Boardwalk to be transformed into a coastal holiday wonderland! Come enjoy the lights, and fun activities and events for the whole family. The little ones will be thrilled to pay a visit to Santa at his workshop.

Dates for the 2013 Christmas by the Sea in Carolina Beach will be:

November 29 & 30
December 7, 14, & 21

Don't forget that your favorite North Carolina beaches are a wonderful place to visit during the holiday season!

Don't miss your chance to see the big guy at Christmas by the Sea at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk.



Christmas by the Sea (CBTS) continues every night through the New Year's Eve celebration. The CBTS activities (Santa's workshop, fire, pit, live nativity scene, hot coco, etc) will be open every Saturday (except for Christmas eve) beginning on Nov 26th and ending on Dec 31. This year both the displays and the activities will be open on New Year's Eve prior to the dropping of the ball!

Christmas By The Sea - Lighting Ceremony on 11/25/11

Christmas by the Sea will hold its opening ceremony and lighting at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk on Friday the 25th after the Island of Light ceremony at the lake. It will continue every night through the New Year's Eve celebration. The Christmas by the Sea activities (Santa's workshop, fire, pit, live nativity scene, hot coco, etc) will be open every Saturday (except for Christmas eve) beginning on Nov 26th and ending on Dec 31. This year both the displays and the  activities will be open on New Year's Eve prior to the dropping of the ball!

Christmas By The Sea Returns To Pleasure Island


Make the most of this wonderful time of year and spend an evening enjoying Christmas by the Sea, returning to the Carolina Beach Boardwalk in its second year, and already a beloved holiday tradition.

The fun begins at 8:00 pm, Friday, November 26th (following the Island of Lights Lighting at the Lake Celebration) and continues Friday at Saturday evenings (5:00 - 8:00 pm) through December 19th.

The event includes:

  • Fire Pit with Story Telling
  • Hot Chocolate
  • Live Nativity Scene
  • Caroling
  • Visit From Santa (Sat only)
  • Theatre, Choral, and Band Performances by Ashley, Murray, and CB Elementary Schools (Sat only)
  • Pleasure Island Drama Club Performances
  • Cape Fear Roller Girls Appearance
  • Puppet Shows
  • Arts & Crafts Market
  • Ornament Making For Children

Carolina Beach Boardwalk Makeover Presents Christmas by the Sea, November 27th


The Carolina Beach Boardwalk Makeover Committee Presents Christmas by the Sea starting Friday, November 27th and running through December 19th, 2009.

The first night kicks off at 8 pm after the Lighting at the Lake Ceremony at the Carolina Beach Lake Park, part of the Island of Lights Festival.  Christmas by the Sea features fun for the whole family every Friday and Saturday night from 5 - 8 pm including:
  • Fire pit with hot chocolate and storytelling
  • Live Nativity Scene
  • Caroling
  • Santa (on Saturdays only)
  • Theatre, choral, and band performances by Ashley, Murray, and Carolina Beach Elementary Schools (on Saturdays only)
  • Pleasure Island Drama Club
  • Cape Fear Roller Girls
  • Puppet Shows
  • Arts and Crafts Activities
  • Ornament Making for the kids
The Christmas by the Sea committee is looking for additional volunteers to help wherever possible (Santa's Workshop, Santa's area, story telling, stage area, and general assistance).  To volunteer, please contact Michele Connet at 458-8666.
