The Lighting at the Lake Ceremony - November 25 @ 7 pm
Come see the beautiful light displays surrounding Carolina Beach Lake illuminate, officially starting the month-long Island of Lights Festival. The brief opening ceremony, prior to the actual lighting, will feature President of the Island of Lights Committee, Pleasure Island elected officials, and musical entertainment. Local Cub Scouts provide the Honor Guard and display the flag for the signing of the National Anthem.

Just because summer is over doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do on Pleasure Island. Quite the contrary! Pleasure Island is renowned for great entertainment, great food, and great experiences all year long. Island of Lights Spring Fashion Show

Save the date for the 2016 Island of Lights Spring Fashion Show!

This popular event will return on Saturday, April 16 from 11 am to 2 pm at the American Legion on Bridge Barrier Road in Carolina Beach.

Come support the annual Island of Lights Festival, local boutiques, and your friends and neighbors on Pleasure Island by attending this year's luau-themed show!

Food Donations Needed for the Help Center of Federal Point

The holidays are a time of friends, family, peace and giving - and with your help, we can give more to our less fortunate friends and families in our community.

The Help Center of Federal Point,  an emergency, short term assistance center for residents of Carolina Beach, is currently in need of non-perishable food items. There will be a food drive taking place during the Island of Lights Christmas Parade this Friday, December 4 at 7:30 pm.

How would you like to be part of the Christmas Flotilla or the Island of Lights Christmas Parade in Carolina Beach this year?!

To be in the Island of Lights Christmas Parade in Carolina Beach, you must submit an application online (new for 2015). Area residents young and old look forward to the annual Christmas Parade every year, and this year is sure not to disappoint! The Parade is always the second Friday after Thanksgiving and begins at 7:30 pm.

The 2013 Island of Lights Christmas Card and ornament are now available for purchase at the following businesses on Pleasure Island:

2012 Island of Lights Christmas Card and Ornament Signing

Meet the artists who are bringing the 2012 Christmas Card and Ornament for the Island of Lights to life. Barbara Boyer designed the card, and Mary Jo Madden has been hand painting the ornaments for the event since 2001.

This event takes place at Michael's Seafood in Carolina Beach from 6 - 8 pm.

New Years Eve on Pleasure Island!

Welcome in 2012 on beautiful Pleasure Island, at some of the most beautiful North Carolina beaches. Here are just a few of the exciting ways to ring in the new year:

Island of Lights New Year Celebration
Fun for the whole family - dj, dancing, and the dropping of the huge lighted beachball at midnight, followed by an amazing fireworks display. It all starts at 9 pm at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk.

New Years Eve Party Cruise
All aboard the Royal Winner Princess II, one of the Winner Boats fleet, for a New Years Party at sea! $25 per person includes a champagne toast, dessert, and party favors - a cash bar will also be available. Dance the night away and have a great view of the fireworks at midnight. Reservations required - 910-458-5356.

4th Annual New Years Eve Bash at Tangerine's Caribbean Bar & Grille
This years theme is the "Roaring 20's" so put on your best Gangster / Flapper gear and enjoy a night of live music from 6 - 10, a DJ dance party to bring in 2012 from 10pm - 2am, balloon drop, champagne toast, party favors and lots of drink specials.

New Years Eve Party at SeaWitch Cafe and Tiki Bar
Great music from Beachbilly Brothers and DJ Lil Mike. $10 per person. Seats are limited so call 910-707-0533 for a reservation.

Watch anywhere along the parade route which travels Lake Park Blvd from Atlanta Ave to Federal Point Plaza.

Saturday, December 4th, 6:00 pm - Island of Lights Flotilla
See decorated watercraft of all shapes and sizes in this unique Pleasure Island tradition. The boats start at Snow's Cut and head to the Carolina Beach Boat Basin and back.

Saturday, December 11th - Tour of Homes

Friday, December 31st, 9:00 pm - New Year's Eve Countdown in Kure Beach
Fun for the whole family! Enjoy music and dancing in front of the pier. At midnight send 2010 out in style and welcome 2011 with the dropping of a giant lighted beach ball and incredible fireworks display.

The Fun On Pleasure Island Doesn't End With The Summer

Island of Lights Tour of Homes, 2009

The Island of Lights Festival on Pleasure Island continues today with the Annual Tour of Homes.

Take a self-guided tour through some of Pleasure Island's most beautiful homes when they are decorated for the holidays. Enjoy Southern hospitality at its best as the owners welcome you into the privacy of their homes for this special holiday treat.

The 2009 Tour of Homes will take place today, Saturday, December 12th.

Tickets are available at businesses on Pleasure Island.

Island of Lights Christmas Parade and Flotilla, 2009

The Island of Lights Christmas Parade takes place tonight, Friday December 4th starting at 7:30pm. 

The parade proceeds from Atlanta Avenue down Lake Park Boulevard to the Federal Point Plaza.

Floats, bands and Santa Clause will be there to add to the festivities of the Season and provide a night of entertainment for families.

And don't miss the Christmas Flotilla on Saturday, December 5th starting at 6:00pm.

Fishing boats and pleasure craft electrically decorated with thousands of lights present a spectacular display on the Intracoastal Waterway.

They cruise from Snow's Cut to the Carolina Beach Boat Basin and back.  The boats compete for prizes and add to the wonderful holiday spirit.

The panel of judges will watch from the Harbor Masters Restaurant.

What a great way to celebrate the season!  See you there!

We are sad to announce that the Annual Island of Lights Tour of Homes on Pleasure Island has been cancelled for this year. We appreciate all the interest and the willingness of the families whose homes were scheduled to be on display for the tour.

We hope to see the Island of Lights Tour of Homes back in full swing next year.

The traditional Pleasure Island Christmas Flotilla is tonight! Don't miss this festive and fun chance to celebrate the Christmas season in Pleasure Island style - a parade on water!

Island Of Lights - Lighting at the Lake Celebration

The Annual Pleasure Island of Lights "Lighting at the Lake Celebration" takes place this Friday, the day after Thanksgiving!

Details:

• What: Pleasure Island Lighting at the Lake Celebration

• Where: Carolina Beach Lake Park, Carolina Beach NC

Walk a mile around the Carolina Beach Lake to view lighted displays, enjoy caroling, and a live nativity provided by community groups including the Boy Scouts and Carolina Beach Elementary Chorus. Refreshments will be served and Santa will even visit the celebration!!

This annual light-up celebration officially begins the month long Island of Lights Festival on Pleasure Island.

Following the lighting at the Lake, the lighting of the Carolina Beach Boardwalk will take place.
