Why limit the Fourth of July to just one day of celebration? Revelers can show their patriotic love at The Independence Day Weekend Fireworks By The Sea and Boardwalk Gazebo festivities July 1 through July 3 to celebrate our country's birthday.

What Pleasure Island has to Offer

Pleasure Island is home to some of the loveliest beaches in North Carolina, and this Fourth of July it's going to rock one awe-inspiring Independence Day tribute. From a fish fry to a pancake breakfast, from performing arts to live music, and of course breathtaking fireworks, come experience the three-day fun-filled festivities. Fireworks - Friday, May 22, 2015

The weather is warm, the beaches as beautiful as ever, and Pleasure Island is gearing up for another amazing summer season! It all kicks off with the first Fireworks show of Summer 2015 on Friday, May 22 at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk.

Big Time Party Band will get things started at 6:30 PM and keep the music rocking through the big fireworks display when the sun goes down (9:00 PM). Can't imagine a better to start to a fun filled Memorial Day Weekend.

Fireworks Tonight!

Head down to the Carolina Beach Boardwalk for a fun filled evening! The Chris Bellamy Band (Blues & Country Blend) starts playing at 6:30 and at 9 an impressive Fireworks display will light up the night.

Grab a bite to eat, a sweet treat (donuts, ice cream, fudge, water ice, or gelato), a cold one with some friends, test your courage with a hair raising carnival ride (there are some tamer options too...), and take the classic summer boardwalk photo!

4th of July on Pleasure Island

Come celebrate Independence Day with some fun in the sun on some of the most beautiful North Carolina beaches on Pleasure Island! The quaint beach towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach have lots to offer at all times of year, but you just can't beat these summer holiday weekends.

Swim, surf, fish, and play in the ocean, walk on the boardwalk, take a bike ride around the island, ride the ferry to or from Ft Fisher, ride the rides at the amusement park, dine on some local seafood at one of the many great restaurants, or just relax and take in the view. There's a little something for everyone!

The Mako Band Playing at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk - June 27th

Get the weekend started right with live music, fireworks, and fun at the boardwalk - Thursday nights on Pleasure Island!

This week (Thursday, June 27th) listen to beach boogie and blues from The Mako Band. Music starts at 6:30 pm and the fireworks show at 9:00 pm.

While you're in the area grab a bite to eat at one of the nearby restaurants such as Havana's, Island Hots, or Shuckin' Shack Oyster Bar...or a cold beverage at an area watering hole such as The Last Resort or Hurricane Alley's. And of course no summer trip to Pleasure Island is complete without a tasty treat from world famous Britt's Donuts!

What To Do With Kids on Pleasure Island

Pleasure Island and the towns of Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher have plenty to offer kids of all ages. It's an ideal destination for a family vacation, weekend getaway, as well as a great place to live year round!

Of course the beach itself provides hour after hour of entertainment, but here are a few more ideas of what to do with kids on Pleasure Island:

Parks
Hike the trails in Carolina Beach State Park. Play tennis, basketball, or skateboard at Mike Chappell Park in Carolina Beach. Test your volleyball or disc golf skills at Joe Eakes Park in Kure Beach. Both Mike Chappell Park and Joe Eakes Park have playgrounds where the little ones can swing, slide, and play.

NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher
Learn about the creatures that live in and near the varied aquatic habitats on and near Pleasure Island at the aquarium. Kids from 2 - 12 will love the newly opened Adventure Reef outdoor play area.

Carolina Beach Boardwalk
Step back in time with a trip to the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. Pose for a family photo at the Carolina Beach Crescent Moon, and surprise the kids with a sweet treat such as ice cream, water ice, fudge, or donuts. During the summer season check out the amusement park rides, Family Night on Tuesdays, and live music each Thursday evening.

Fireworks
During the summer season you can enjoy a fireworks display every week! The pyrotechnics are launched from the beach in front of the Carolina Beach Boardwalk at 9:00 pm.

Free Outdoor Movies
Catch family friendly flicks on the big screen at the Carolina Beach Lake each Sunday evening. Show time is at dusk - around 8:45. 2012 Lineup.

Need some grown up time? Take the kiddos to Island Time Drop-N-Play, where they can play while you enjoy a dinner out, a little adult conversation, or maybe a nap!

The 2012 Summer Season at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk

Wondering what's happening at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk during the 2012 summer season? Well...a lot! There's something fun for everyone with family night, live music, BINGO, Fireworks, and much more! The festivities kick off May 22nd (the week leading up to Memorial Day.

New Years Eve on Pleasure Island!

Welcome in 2012 on beautiful Pleasure Island, at some of the most beautiful North Carolina beaches. Here are just a few of the exciting ways to ring in the new year:

Island of Lights New Year Celebration
Fun for the whole family - dj, dancing, and the dropping of the huge lighted beachball at midnight, followed by an amazing fireworks display. It all starts at 9 pm at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk.

New Years Eve Party Cruise
All aboard the Royal Winner Princess II, one of the Winner Boats fleet, for a New Years Party at sea! $25 per person includes a champagne toast, dessert, and party favors - a cash bar will also be available. Dance the night away and have a great view of the fireworks at midnight. Reservations required - 910-458-5356.

4th Annual New Years Eve Bash at Tangerine's Caribbean Bar & Grille
This years theme is the "Roaring 20's" so put on your best Gangster / Flapper gear and enjoy a night of live music from 6 - 10, a DJ dance party to bring in 2012 from 10pm - 2am, balloon drop, champagne toast, party favors and lots of drink specials.

New Years Eve Party at SeaWitch Cafe and Tiki Bar
Great music from Beachbilly Brothers and DJ Lil Mike. $10 per person. Seats are limited so call 910-707-0533 for a reservation.

However you spend New Years remember to be safe, and always have a designated driver. You can also get a ride from a local taxi company such as Lett's Taxi & Limousine - 910-458-2222.

Super Sized Fireworks Display - Friday, September 16th

Thanks to a few storms earlier in the summer we get to enjoy one more fantastic fireworks display on Pleasure Island.

The Double Fireworks show will start at 9:00 pm on the beach by the Carolina Beach Boardwalk, but come early to hear Wilmington's own classic rock band, Radio Flyer Band, playing from 6:30 - 9:30 at the Carolina Beach Gazebo Stage.

Volunteers Needed For Thursday Night Fireworks

The Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce is looking for a few good people to volunteer to help with the Thursday night fireworks displays. The events that are put on by the Chamber of Commerce are not possible without the dedication and hard work of our Volunteers.  If you are interested in helping out with the Thursday Night Fireworks, please give Greg a call at (910) 458-8434.  Give us a couple hours and your community will thank you.  If you have never volunteered before, give us a call and help make your community the 'piece of paradise' that we have grown accustomed to... You will be glad you did!

FIREWORKS CANCELLED IN CAROLINA BEACH FOR JUNE 23, 2011

Carolina Beach, NC – The Fireworks scheduled for 9:00 pm in Carolina Beach for June 23, 2011 have been cancelled.  The New Hanover County Fire Marshall informed us that the current ‘dry’ conditions and the ‘burn ban’ that is currently in effect for Eastern North Carolina requires that the fireworks be cancelled for tonight.  The Summer Boardwalk Music Series will still be held from 6:30-9:30 featuring Madonna Nash.  Please join us next week on Thursday 6-30-11 for fireworks and again on 7-3-11 for our BIG Independence Day Celebration.

Fireworks! Final Super Sized Show to Close Out the Season

Don't miss the last installment of Fireworks by the Sea Friday, September 3rd on Pleasure Island. A great way to kick off the long Labor Day weekend, the festivities start at 6:30 pm with live music by the popular Drew Smith Band at the Gazebo on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. After the sun sets (around 9:00 pm) a triple sized fireworks display will light up the sky over the ocean and the island.

The Pleasure Island Fireworks Display will be bigger and better than ever this year!  Join us for the Fireworks on Saturday, July 3rd on the beach strand in front of the boardwalk starting at 9:00 p.m.

Before heading out to the beach, stop by the Boardwalk Gazebo starting at 6:30 p.m., for live entertainment featuring Soul Power Posse playing your favorite R&B and Soul favorites.
