The Town of Kure Beach is turning 70 years old! To help celebrate this great milestone, the Town of Kure Beach is looking for volunteers to make the event extra special. What: The Town of Kure Beach is turning 70 and with that comes a town-wide celebration! Extra hands are needed to help bring this event to life - if you're willing to lend a hand, we'd love to have you!

Friends of Pleasure Island State Parks Seeking New Members

Do you love the outdoors? Are you considered a nature enthusiast by friends and family? Do you have a soft spot for the Pleasure Island community? If you answered yes to all of these questions, why not volunteer with Friends of Pleasure Island State Parks and help support and promote our two local state parks - Carolina Beach State Park and Fort Fisher State Recreation Area.

Progress On The Carolina Beach Boardwalk

CB Boardwalk Makeover 

Comprised of a group of citizens and Carolina Beach businesses, the infamous CB Boardwalk is undergoing a full makeover in order to enrich the lives of residents and visitors alike. 

Through the financial aid of public and private contributions, the area will receive fresh paint, planters, murals, sculptures, artwork, shady trees, flower shrubs, comfortable benches and new trash / cigarette receptacles to keep the area clean.

The purpose of this makeover is to provide a safe, healthy and beautiful environment as a means of cultural expression and to encourage thoughtful development of the area. The city wishes to further community outreach by promoting education of the environment and increase area entertainment opportunities. Additionally, this makeover will further support a healthy lifestyle for CB citizens by providing a peaceful place to enjoy jogging, yoga and other athletic opportunities.

Volunteers Needed For Thursday Night Fireworks

The Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce is looking for a few good people to volunteer to help with the Thursday night fireworks displays. The events that are put on by the Chamber of Commerce are not possible without the dedication and hard work of our Volunteers.  If you are interested in helping out with the Thursday Night Fireworks, please give Greg a call at (910) 458-8434.  Give us a couple hours and your community will thank you.  If you have never volunteered before, give us a call and help make your community the 'piece of paradise' that we have grown accustomed to... You will be glad you did!

Island of Lights Seeking Volunteers - Help Plan Holiday Events in Carolina Beach & Kure Beach

The Island of Lights is created by dedicated volunteers that sponsor events to promote Pleasure Island. These events occur during the Holiday Season and their popularity increases every year.

Island of Lights events include:

• Lighting at the Lake
• Christmas Parade
• Christmas Flotilla
• New Years Celebration (with fireworks!)

You are invited to join the fun and take pride in all that this Island has to offer those who visit and live here.
