Sundays at 8:45pm

These films are FREE and open to the public. Popcorn, candy, soft drinks, cotton candy and other popular concessions are available at reasonable prices.

All movies are weather-dependent, so be sure to call ahead (910-458-8434).

This is a true summer time treat for adults and kids alike.

Enjoy A Movie Under The Stars Sunday Evening on Pleasure Island

Whether you are wrapping up a fun filled weekend or just getting started on a week long vacation, Sunday evenings the place to be is the Carolina Beach Lake on Pleasure Island. There, starting at dusk (around 8:45), you can take in a different movie every week - all for free!

This week's feature is The Blind Side - a heartwarming story about a homeless teenager who is taken in by a caring family. The Blind Side stars Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw, and Quinton Aaron.

Bring a blanket or some chairs and relax under the stars enjoying a great movie. It is truly a unique experience - especially for those born after the end of drive in movies!

Sunday Night Movie at Carolina Beach Lake - 2010 Lineup

Snow might be in the forecast, but the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce is busy thinking about a fun-filled summer season here at the beach!

And to get you all thinking about warmer times ahead, we've announced the 2010 movie line-up for the annual summertime series: Sunday Night Movie at Carolina Beach Lake.


There is something for everyone this year and the series will kick off with the 9-time Oscar nominated Avatar on May 30th! Other movies in the weekly series include Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian, Star Trek, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Blind Side, Where the Wild Things Are and more!
