  • Carolina Beach Farmers Market - 8:00 am - 11:00 pm at the Carolina Beach Lake. New items this week include fresh caught shrimp, homemade BBQ sauces, and cupcakes.
  • Flounder Points Tournament - Held by the Got-Em On Live Bait Club. Even if you're not fishing come out and check out the weigh-in at Freddie's Yacht Yard (400 Block of Canal Drive in Carolina Beach) from 2 - 3 pm Saturday. Come see North Carolina fishing at its best!

Sunday, August 22nd:
  • Free Movie At The Lake - 8:45 pm at the Carolina Beach Lake - featuring "Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl" this week. Shiver me timbers...

The Fun On Pleasure Island Doesn't End With The Summer

Sun, sand, and surf are still at the forefront of everyone's minds as we enjoy all that summer on these beautiful North Carolina beaches has to offer. But don't forget about Pleasure Island once fall rolls around!

Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher are wonderful places to visit during the fall and winter months. Come for a day, a weekend, or a week long getaway. Area hotels, condos, and vacation rental homes are often available at discounted "off season" rates making your trip extremely affordable.

Enjoy a stroll on uncrowded beaches, shop for unique holiday gifts at the boutiques and stores around the island, and grab a bite to eat at one of the many fabulous Pleasure Island restaurants. Plan your stay to coincide with one of the exciting events taking place such as the world famous Seafood, Blues, & Jazz Fest (October 9th & 10th), the Island of Lights Lighting At The Lake (November 26th), the Christmas Parade (December 3rd), the Christmas Flotilla (December 4th), or the New Year's Eve Celebration & Fireworks. If you're an adreniline junkie (or maybe a little bit crazy!) you might want to check out the Polar Plunge which will be held in February.

Many Ways To Have Fun On Pleasure Island - Local Events August 13th - 19th

It's the start of another beautiful weekend on Pleasure Island! Be sure to check out Jam Sandwich playing as part of the Free Summer Concert Series at Fort Fisher tonight. You can't beat the great music, gorgeous location, and fun crowd! Flocks of pelicans flying overhead while the sun sets over the river create one of those magical Pleasure Island moments.

What's Your Pleasure? Events on the Island August 6th - 12th

There is a LOT happening on Pleasure Island these days. Whether you want to check out some live music, do some performing of your own, help out a local charity, or do a little shopping you won't be disappointed. Friday, August 6th
  • Performing Arts Night At The Boardwalk - 6 pm - 9 pm at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. Enjoy the talents of others or share your own!
  • First Friday Art Walk & Backpack Benefit - Starts at Le Soleil on Cape Fear Blvd at 5:00 PM, and continues at SurfHouse at Lake Park Blvd & St Joseph. Also includes food drive benefiting Carolina Beach School Backpack Buddies and Nourish NC. Contact Kristin Gibson for more information. Kristin's work will be on display at SurfHouse all month long.

Going To The Chapel...Pleasure Island Style

The beauty of Pleasure Island is the perfect backdrop for one of the most important moments in a couple's life - when they say "I Do." There is no shortage of stunning locations, and great local professionals to help create a magical wedding by the sea.

Enjoy the Island - Pleasure Island Events July 30 - August 5

Can you believe it will be August on Sunday? The summer is truly flying by. Luckily here on Pleasure Island we get to enjoy summer longer than most with warm weather and water well into the "fall". Make the most of this weekend and upcoming week by taking part in some of these fun events taking place on the island. Friday, July 30th:
  • Kure Beach BBQ Fundraiser - 6:30 - 9:30 pm, $7 per plate, eat in or take out. At the Fire Dept at 114 7th Avenue, North in Kure Beach.
Saturday, July 31st:
  • Carolina Beach Farmers Market - 8:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Carolina Beach Lake
  • Pleasure Island Brewery Invitational - 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Carolina Beach Lake. Enjoy live music and sample beers from 20 regional breweries (must be 21 or older to taste the beer). Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the gate and benefit the Pleasure Island Sea Turtle Project and NC Brewers Guild. Learn more at www.GoodVibesBrew.com

Enjoy A Cold Brew At The Pleasure Island Brewery Invitational

Beat the heat by sampling some nice cold beer (must be 21 years of age or older to drink of course) at the Pleasure Island Brewery Invitational at the Carolina Beach Lake Park from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM this Saturday, July 31st.

This inaugural event features 20 Regional Breweries offering unlimited sampling with music provided by special guests Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad and Toca Trio. Ticket prices are $30 in Advance and $40 Day of. Discounted Designated Driver Tickets will be available for $20 dollars at the gate.
